Mark Paterson AO to head the Department of Trade and Investment, Regional Infrastructure and Services

Today the Government has announced that it will be appointing Mr Mark Paterson AO as the new Director-General of the Department of Trade and Investment, Regional Infrastructure and Services. Mark is currently Secretary of the Commonwealth Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, a position he has held since late 2007.

Mark will take up his appointment in NSW within the next 3–4 weeks. more

A major tender has been called to help finalise design and operations options for the North West Rail Link. The NSW Government, Department of Transport has appointed a project team to drive the planning, development and construction of the North West Rail Link (23 kilometer rail line between Epping and Rouse Hill).

The successful tender will be part of the project team and will provide design and operations options for the North West Rail Link, along with ongoing technical expertise to ensure the end product meets the needs of commuters and the community. The project includes six new stations, approximately 3,000 park and ride spaces and bus interchange facilities. more
