The next step in delivering on the digital economy

The next step in delivering on the digital economy.

Minister Simon Crean has welcomed the Federal Government's new Digital Economy Strategy as a major opportunity for the arts sector and regional Australia.

The Strategy maps the way forward for Australia to become a world-leading digital economy by 2020 with the roll-out of the National Broadband Network (NBN).

"The NBN is a game-changing piece of infrastructure and there is so much potential, especially for those who adapt their processes to take advantage early," Mr Crean said

"For regional Australia, the programs represent an early down payment on the Governments commitment to ensuring that NBN bridges the digital divide which impacts on regional communities," Mr Crean said.
