The Estimated Resident Population (ERP) of Greater Sydney was 5,120,107 as of the 30th June 2019, a rise of 1.71% over the previous year. According to NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment greater Sydney’s population will grow to approximately 6.6 million by 2036. The Western Parkland City is projected to grow from 740,000 to 1.1 million by 2036.
The RDA Sydney region covers the 33 local government areas of greater Sydney extending from Hornsby in the north to Blue Mountains in the west and to Sutherland and Wollondilly in the south.
