Economic Performance of Australia's Cities and regions - SGS

SGS Economics and Planning have released research that shows that Sydney and Melbourne are driving the national economy. Sydney’s GDP growth slowed from a very high 3.9 per cent in 2015-16, to 3.3 per cent in 2016-17. According to Terry Rawnsley, an economist at SGS, while growth in the Sydney economy weakened in 2016-17, Sydney still contributed 41.6 per cent of Australia’s total GDP growth in 2016-17, the highest since 1991-92.
